I just had to share this photo with our Northscapers. There are always so many scenes that remind us that spring is in the air and the gardening season is upon us, but nothing confirms that more than a flowery bed of perennials in bloom.

My Heart Is Given To The Art

Those who know me, know that I am a tree and shrub kind of guy. So it should be no surprise that when it comes to a flowery performance in the garden, my heart is invariably with the flowering trees and shrubs. But as all savvy northern gardeners know, while the performance may be commanding, it is all too brief. So when the call goes out for long-lasting bloom in the garden, that is job is best left to our herbaceous friends.
